What is a VoIP Phone Number?
A VoIP phone number is a way to make calls using the internet instead of traditional landlines. It is virtual, meaning it does not need any physical wires, and it connects through the internet.
Here are some key characteristics of VoIP phone numbers:
- No physical location: VoIP numbers are not tied to a specific place.
- Cost-effective: They make long-distance and international calls cheaper.
- Portability: You can move your existing phone number to a VoIP service, or take your VoIP number with you to another provider.
How do you get a new number?
- When you create an account on our communication dashboard, you get one free number. But businesses often need more, especially if they are expanding or have remote workers in different locations. Our communication dashboard lets you buy extra numbers easily.
- Depending on the country, city and location, you can search for our available numbers and choose as many as possible.
To purchase a number, follow the navigation below:
- Login to your Account and go to Settings.
- Scroll down the settings bar 𔪠Under the Administrator, click Numbers.
- The numbers window will appear on the right side of your interface.
- Click the +Add button on the top right side.

- An Add number window will appear, asking you to select a country.
- Our communication dashboard offers UK and USA numbers 𔪠Choose one country.

- A pop-up for number type selection.

- After selecting the country, numbers will appear on your interface.

- Select your number, click āPurchaseā and an Address window will open.
- Enter your address and click āUseā.


What is Number Porting?
- Number Porting allows you to move your existing phone number from your current provider to VoIP Business. This is useful if you want to keep your current business number instead of getting a new one.
- We provide you with the facility to smoothly transition your existing numbers to our communication dashboard.
(Please contact us if you want to port an existing number to VoIP Business. We will review the request and confirm if we have the service provider agreement)
What type of numbers can you port?
- You can port most numbers, whether they start with 01, 03, 09, and more. Both landline and mobile numbers can be ported, though landline numbers might take a bit longer.
- However, we will keep you updated and guide you through each step.
How much does it cost to port a landline/mobile number?
- While porting your existing numbers, you must know that you need to pay fees. Usually, we charge a small amount for each porting.
- All non-VoIP business numbers can send number transfer requests through online accounts. Follow the steps for the Number Transfer process for your Local UK Numbers.
Follow these steps to send your porting request to us:
- Login to your Account and go to Administrator Settings.
- Find the Number option in the settings panel 𔪠click the +Add Button.

- A pop up window appear with different options. Click on number porting
- You will see an Add port number. Enter the number you want to port 𔪠Done

How to select an Existing/Shared Caller ID?
- Sometimes, you may want all your outgoing calls to have the same Caller ID, like for marketing consistency. If you have a number from another provider (like BT or Virgin Media), you can use it as your Caller ID on our communication dashboard.
Follow these simple steps to add a specified caller ID:
- Log in to your account to access the dialer.
- You may see the VoIP dialer on your screen once you log in.

- Click the menu for your existing numbers.

- Among the few numbers, choose one caller ID.
- Click the desired caller ID you want to show your customers.

How to add new Caller ID?
- If you want to keep your old business number as your Caller ID, you can do that with our communication dashboard.
- You might be using that number on your mobile or landline somewhere else. To keep the same caller ID, you can use VoIP Business shared caller ID feature.
Follow these simple steps to set a shared caller ID on VoIP Business:
- Log into your Account, then click āSettingsā.
- Go to the āNumberā module in the administrator settings.
- Click ā+Addā a pop up window appears, now choose ā+Add Caller IDā.

- After selecting ā+Add Caller IDā a pop-up window will appears.
- Add the number you want to add as your caller ID 𔪠click āDoneā

- After Add your number, receive a verification code on it, and input the code to verify your phone.
- Then click on āverifyā button.

How can you assign numbers to Users, IVR, Teams, or Call queues for incoming calls in our communication dashboard?
- In our communication dashboard, you can assign a number to a user, a team, an IVR system, or a call queue.
- However, each user in the team or call queue can have number extensions to proceed with the calls smoothly.
To assign numbers as needed, follow these steps:
- Login to your account and click āSettingsā on the left-bottom sidebar.
- Navigate to the āNumberā module in the administrator settings and click on it.

- Click on a specific number from the list to assign it as needed.
- A new interface will appear and click on āChangeā button.

- Youāll find options like users, IVR, teams, and call queues. Click one and make your selection.

- Then click on āDoneā.
How can you share number for others to use as their caller ID?
- You can share a number with other users so they can use it as their Caller ID, but they wonāt receive incoming calls on that number.
To share a number for use as a caller ID, follow these steps:
- Login to your account and click āSettingsā on the left-bottom sidebar.
- Navigate to the āNumberā module in the administrator settings and click on it.
- Click on your desire number from the list to assign it as needed.
- New interface will appear on right side. Scroll down to outgoing calls only .

- Click ā+Add Usersā present next to outgoing calls only and select the desired users.
- It will display the number of users youāve shared the number with.

How to label a phone number for quick identification?
In our communication dashboard, you can easily label a phone number for quick identification. Hereās how:
- Login first, click setting icon and navigate āNumberā from administrator settings.
- Click on desire number, new popup window will appear.
- Scroll down and click on 'change" button next to . Write label in the label section and click update.

- This label will display alongside your caller ID in the speed dialer.
Can I Assign A Number To Multiple Users?
Our communication dashboard allows you to assign a number to multiple users to create a ring group:
- Log in to your account and access setting options in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.
- Within the administration settings navigate to Numbers option.
- A new interface appears showing you all your purchased numbers.
- Click on your required number, a pop up window will appear.
- Now click on the āchangeā button present beside the incoming calls option.
- In the new interface select all users to which you want to assign this number.
- The users who are assigned the same number are now in the ring group.
- Whenever there is an incoming call to this number the devices of all users in a ring group will ring simultaneously.
- All users with the same number will have access to call forwarding and voicemail settings against the assigned number.
How to Unassign numbers?
- The admin can effortlessly manage numbers on demand, such as purchasing or deleting.
- Our communication dashboard offers a complimentary number upon signing up for a new account.
To remove a purchased number, follow these steps:
- Log-in to your Account first.
- Access āNumberā in administrator settings.
- It will show you all numbers in your account.

- Select the number and scroll down to Unassign.
āYou need to unassigned the given number before deleting itā
Why is there a requirement for an address with some phone numbers?
- Some phone numbers require you to provide a valid address due to local regulations. This address should match where the number will be used or where the business is located. This is to ensure that the numbers are used responsibly and comply with the rules.
